Houston — During the President debate in Houston last night, Republican candidate Donald Trump called for commissioning a new Presidential yacht.
“Ever since Jimmy Carter sold our last Presidential yacht, the USS Sequoia, American isn’t respected in the world any more. We don’t win any more, because other countries don’t take us seriously. The Queen of England has a yacht. The President of France has a yacht. Even [expletive] Kim Jong [expletive] Un of North [expletive] Korea has a yacht.
“You think Russia takes us seriously without a yacht? Putin has me over to the Black Sea, and we go out on his yacht. We have some drinks, we talk, we negotiate a little. And then he says, ‘Next time I’ll come to America, and we’ll go out on your Presidential yacht–except, Donald, now I remember–your country doesn’t have a yacht‘.”
“Selling my own personal yacht was the worst mistake I ever made, but Jimmy Carter sold our country’s yacht–America’s yacht. I’ve made mistakes, but Jimmy selling the yacht that belonged to our country, that was a doozy.
“I can’t tell you exactly what my Presidential yacht will look like, but I can tell you it will be a nice yacht–a very, very nice yacht. Actually, I don’t even know if it will be a yacht. It might be an aircraft carrier, maybe, or a destroyer. Maybe a nice sailboat even. One thing I can tell you is that when America has a yacht again, people will see our yacht in various places around the world–people will respect us, and our country will be great again.”
